YEAH! x Writer’s Gym - October 7th, 2026!

YEAH! is excited to announce our upcoming event: a collaboration with the Free Nashville Poetry Library and Writer’s Gym!

This one-time community workshop introduces participants to the art of songwriting through the perspectives of three youth teaching artists. The session is designed to be welcoming to beginners, supportive of participants with varied lived experiences, and structured to encourage creativity without requiring prior writing or musical background.

The workshop is divided into three segments. Each youth teaching artist will share a short talk about their personal approach to songwriting and then guide the group through an optional writing activity. Activities will be time-bound and structured to support participants who benefit from clear prompts.

Participants will:

• Hear three youth teaching artists speak about their songwriting process

• Engage in optional, structured writing prompts

• Explore lyric writing in a supportive, guided environment

• Learn how melody, rhythm, and storytelling work together

• Build confidence in creative expression, regardless of experience level

All ages are welcome and supplies will be provided. Donations are accepted and will go to YEAH! and their youth alum teaching artists. No registration/RSVP required.
