What’s Rock Block MNPS?

Rock Block MNPS is an 9-week music-based program for youth ages 8 to 17 where creativity, collaboration, and self-expression take center stage. Participants will learn an instrument, explore songwriting, and perform live in a final showcase, all with guidance from professional musicians.

This is a space where young people come together to explore the power of music, learn to work as a team, and discover new confidence in their voices and ideas.

What You’ll Learn

  • Learn about rhythm, beat-making, and different types of percussion instruments

  • How to collaborate with peers and work in a group setting

  • The power of musical expression and storytelling

  • How to prepare and perform in front of a live audience

  • Insight from a mentor who is an active working musician

  • Location: Smith Springs Community Center
    2801 Smith Springs Rd, Nashville, TN 37217

  • Dates: Mondays, February 2nd - April 13th, 2026

  • Time: 5:15-6:15 PM

  • Instrument: Percussion (hand drums, cajons, shakers, drum machines, and more)

  • Teaching artist: Linwood Regensburg
