YEAH! Rocks Music Camp Celebrates 20 Years as an Empowering Youth Arts Nonprofit!
YEAH! is entering its 20th year as a non-profit, with a wider network that now includes local libraries, community centers, MNPS schools, and even renowned recording studios. Since its inception, YEAH! has empowered over 3,000 youth through immersive, music-based workshops, and it is set to return to Nashville Prep for its 20th anniversary from June 1st to 5th, 2026. Youth aged 6 to 17 will engage in hands-on activities that foster curiosity, creativity, and self-expression.
"It was the best camp I’ve been to so far, because I was able to express myself in so many ways.” Josie, a recent camp-goer, explained, "This one has stuck with me, and it was beautiful." With Grammy-nominated alumni and mentoring by music professionals, this week-long immersive music camp will culminate in campers taking the stage and performing for family and friends at respected Nashville music venue Eastside Bowl.
This year’s workshops include stage technology, stage presence, songwriting, beat-making and recording and even more cost-friendly programs have been implemented as well. Campers will enjoy a relaxed, low-pressure environment with engaging music-related activities and plenty of time to ease into each day with the Kickoff Club or unwind after camp in the Encore Club. The YEAH! Roadie Program offers experienced campers opportunities for greater leadership roles as junior counselors, allowing them to step into mentoring positions while still enjoying many of the camp’s signature activities.
Funded in part by the Community Foundation of Middle TN, Find Your Light Foundation, TN Arts Commission, and the TN Specialty License Plate Program, YEAH! Rocks Music Camp does more than teach kids how to write a hit song. Camp empowers youth through music, fostering exploration, self-expression, community, justice, and cultural engagement, skills that lead to success both in and out of the music business and their robust scholarship program ensures youth of all socio-economic backgrounds have a chance to rock out.
Recently, YEAH! also celebrated the release of "The Starstruck Sessions", the organization’s first professionally produced album featuring original songs written by youth from camp and recorded at Starstruck Studios on Music Row by Grammy Award-winning engineer Todd Tidwell.
