What’s Rock Block?
Rock Block is an 8-week band program for youth ages 13–17 where creativity, collaboration, and self-expression take center stage. Participants will form bands, write original songs, and perform live in a final showcase — all with guidance from professional musicians.
This is a space where young people come together to explore the power of music, learn to work as a team, and discover new confidence in their voices and ideas.
What You’ll Learn
How to write, arrange, and rehearse original songs
How to collaborate with peers and work in a band setting
The power of musical expression and storytelling
How to prepare and perform in front of a live audience
Insight from mentors who are active working musicians
Program Details
Dates: Saturdays, August 16 – October 11, 2025
Location: Random Sample, 4904 Charlotte Ave, Nashville, TN 37209
Open to ages 13 to 17
Instrument options: Guitar, Bass guitar, Keys, Drums, or Vocals (Instruments are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own!)
Showcase Performance: October 11 at Random Sample – open to friends, family & the public (Tickets: $10 - ticket link forthcoming)
Session Times: 1–3 PM or 3–5 PM weekly
(Band session times will be sent by August 1st)
🎵 Please note: Some prior music experience is required.
🎵 This program does not include instrument instruction.
🎵 Due to staffing and space limits, instrument assignments will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
